Choreographer – Sharon Vazanna Dance Group, dancer and dance teacher.
Sharon Vazanna is an independent Israeli choreographer. Her works have been invited to be performed in Denmark, Germany, the Canary Islands, Sweden, and Italy. A graduate of the Rotterdam Dance Academy in the Netherlands, Vazanna danced with Cullberg Ballet in Sweden and with Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company.
As a dancer, she has worked with choreographers including Johan Inger, Crystal Pite, Mats Ek, Alexander Ekman, Anouk van Dijk, Rami Be’er, Idan Cohen, and Idan Sharabi. She has also performed in works by William Forsythe, Jacopo Godani, and others.
In 2012, she won the Performance Award at the Cross Connection Choreography Competition in Denmark. In 2013, her work Red Fields won the Audience Award at the Masdanza Choreography Competition in the Canary Islands, Spain.
Vazanna teaches contemporary dance and repertoire, among other places, at the High School of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, the Bikurei Ha’Itim dancer training program, sought-after summer courses, and workshops around the world.
